74 civic eb2 1200 - distributor and timing helps pls
she had been running like a watch then loud under hood screech and loss of power - i think this signals a distributor problem. of course these are un-obtainium so i sourced the same cap and rotor that were on the car. Like a dip **** I unplugged all the wires from the old cap before taking pics or marking old cap - urggggh. thanks all and happy honda-ing
1. do i need to do anything w timing - i did bump the motor to see which way the rotor spun (clockwise if viewing from front bumper)? if i did not bump the motor would i need to adjust distributor or anything?
2. i have the old clymer manual but it is hard to decipher which is distributor port #1 - anyone know for sure?
3.. is there a work around for new distributor?
from the clymer manual
