Default 92-95 Civic Manual to Auto Conversion

I know you are probablly asking yourself why I would want to do this. The reason is I drive 30 miles one way to work and dont feel like shifting everyday. I have 2 95 civic ex's. One is an Automatic and the other is a 5 sp. Im take the automatic tranny and putting it on the 5 sp. motor. due to the motor in the automatic is blown up. Will my computer work with the 5 sp. wiring harness? What do I have to do to convert this?

Thanks,
Nic

It would be a lot simpler to just move the good engine into the automatic car.

Your manual car doesn't have all the wiring the automatic needs, for example the solenoids on the transmission. You could swap the harnesses out or add some wiring seperately similar to hooking up a VTEC engine in a formerly non VTEC car.

So the only wiring I would have to do is for the solinoids?

I'm guessing the car with the manual is the one that looks better?

If these two cars are identical, aside from the transmissions, just switch everything over. Move the automatic's wiring harness and computer over with the transmission. You should then be good to cruise in automatic comfort.

Actually the automatic is the car I'm putting the engine in. The car was stolen and they stripped everything off of the motor including my turbo!!! They cut the wiring harness. Will the starter off of the 5 sp. engine work on with the automatic transmission?

The starters are different. You need to use an auto starter with an auto tranny.
