There is no seperate fuel pump relay. That function is built into the main relay.

Cool thanks. Wasn't completely sure about that.

Well I went out to my girlfriends car today and it started up fine, like it usually does when it's cold. I kept on trying to recreate the problem for a good half an hour but the fuel pump kept on working like it should. I could hear it for a couple of seconds then turn off with the engine light like normal, then I'ld start the car. Still not convinced that the problem was solved I did a few other things like giggle the keys and physically tried to move the ignition while the car was running, nothing. I then unplugged and removed the ECU, took a look inside and nothing. A little corrosion on the cover but clean inside and no electrical burning smell. After reinstalling the ECU I removed the back up fuse to reset it. The car seems to run fine. I even went as far as to jump the service check connector for any engine light failure codes, nothing. Could it be that after replacing the main relay I needed to reset the ECU? Maybe just a bad connection and re+reing a bunch of connectors helped? Obviously I'll be monitoring the car for the next week or so but for now thanks for all your help and I'll keep you updated if there are changes. Still a little bit confused though please continue with more ideas if there are any.

Well the problem is still there I guess I'm Searching for a short? Could this be a problem with the ECU? It's raining today maybe it's the humidity. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Pull the back seat and measure if voltage is actually reaching the fuel pump wires back there. If it is and the pump doesn't run, it's either one of the wires that go into the tank or, much more likely though you don't want to hear it, the pump itself.
