92 civic heat
so my heat decided to start messing up now that the cold is coming. so i was driving and i put on my heat...i usually hit the button where the arrow is comming from the front of the car...not the one that has the circling arrow...and when i had it like this it would blow out hot air even on the first speed. even when the speed was off i would feel heat coming out.. then one cold *** day i put the speed all the way up and i noticed like a shacking sound...i knew it was the heater blower cuz when i lowered it the noise stopped...now i feel now hot air when on the straight arrow...so now i put it on the circulating one....is my heater motor gonna go soon??
Check whether the blower motor may be clooged with leaves or debris. Removing the glove box will give you access to the blower motor, which should drop down and out after removal of three screws.
You don't have to do anything to the glove box to remove the motor. It comes out the bottom. It's on the very far right side of the car. Remove the 2-wire plug and 3 screws and lower it out.
When you have the selector on "fresh air" (arrow from the front of the car), driving the car at speed will force some air through the system even without the fan running. When it is on "recirculate", the fan must be running.
