92 civic LS4dr, 1.5l to 1.6l swap
Ok I'm curious. If I blow my motor which I do see happening sooner than later, after I started running the dry NOS setup. I have the 1.5L motor now, when this pops, If I buy the 1.6L that came in the EX models from 92-95 can I still use my tranny and ecu... if its a not a simple bolt up the new motor in place of the old one, I would completely swap to a B18... This is not anything more than a toy that I run the **** out of. As of now with the 50shot ran correctly and not being completely stupid it doesn't feel like I could blow it if I ran the NOS all day, doesn't seem to be harming it in the least, as long as I run 91 octane. But I know I will detonate or hit nos at a bad time sooner or later so I'm getting ready for the swap early.
Thx

yeah the d16z6 will bolt right up to your trans. you can also use your ecu, but it has to be chipped into a p28 (the stock 92-95 ex/si ecu) that way it can control the vtec properly. You can also buy a p28 in you don't want to chip yours. you will also need to run some wires from the ecu to the vtec solenoid for vtec to acutaly work.
if you can find one, the ex/si trans has the lower final drive ratio (higher numericaly) which means it keeps the engine in the higher rpm in each shift where the vtec system is activated and more power is being made.
that trans swap itself will make a huge differeance in the performance of you car.
