Default 93 civic dx speedometer and tachometer ?s

so i have a 93 civic dx hatch and the speedometer only works sometimes, and sometimes it just stays at zero so i need info on how to fix that. Also there is no tach on this trim level so im wondering is it possible to take the dash like tach engine temp and tach from a 94 lx and put them into this 93 dx plus would the speedometer cables and all the parts work to replace my broken ones ?????

The pictures show how to troubleshoot your speedometer problem, which is either the speedometer itself or the speed sensor.

If the speedo and odometer don't work:
A. COMMON: It's the Speedo Sensor on the transmission
B. RARE: The gear inside the transmission is broken
C. RARE: The wiring has a short somewhere

If the speedo doesn't work and the odometer works"
A. COMMON: It's the gauge in the cluster
B. RARE: The cluster's wire paths are messed up

Any 92-95 cluster will work on any 92-95 civic without modification. I do have a cluster with a Tach with 169k if you are interested.
