93 Civic with possible ECU problems?
Impact wrench is really the way to go.
You can try shift to 4th gear and block the brake rotor(s) from turning by putting a screwdriver in a slot in the edge of the rotor. The engine will then be locked from turning by the transmission and wheels. You will need a long lever arm to loosen the bolt manually, it's very tight. Also it IS standard right-hand thread, turn ccw to loosen.

Be prepared:
In addition to the Honda hex tool, borrow or purchase 18-inch and 24-inch breaker bars, as well as a 4-5 foot metal pipe to increase leverage of the longer breaker bar. Even with the increased leverage provide by the pipe, you'll need all your body weight with some bouncing to remove the crank pulley nut. ***Read the service manual and the links in my earlier post.***

Well I'm finally finished replacing the timing belt. Wasn't that difficult although getting that bolt off the crank pulley was not so fun. I have the crankshaft pulley tool now so if anybody wants to buy if from me let me know. I'll be glad to sell it. Only problems I had was the fact that I kept breaking tools trying to get that nut off. It needed a lot of torque! Everything else was easy, and it runs a lil different now because of the valves hitting the pistons. I should have documented everything and contributed to the DIY section but my hands were so gross that touching the camera would have been a bad idea. Anyways, thanks for all your help guys!
Glad to hear the belt change went well.
If the engine is running funny, the timing belt might be off by a tooth or, as you mention, the engine sustained some damage. To test the latter idea, compression test the cylinders (see forum DIY section).

It doesn't seem to be idling funny, although you can hear the valves clicking. I prolly just need to take off the head and do some work on it. Replace all the valves and the gaskets, not anytime soon though.
You can try adjusting the valve clearance, this needs to be done once in a while to compensate for wear. Make sure to follow the procedure exactly because if you set them too tight the engine will not run properly and can sustain damage.
