95 civic clutch trouble
Hey guys I have a 95 coupe dx and for the last few days my clutch pedal has been sticking and there is a bad squeeking sound coming from the slave cylinder. and im going through a bottle of clutch/ break fluid a day. Im hoping its just the slave cylinder but any more ideas on what I should check?? thanks for any help
What part is leaking? The slave cylinder? Replace it. The cylinder itself won't squeak but there are pivot points on the lever that goes inside that need grease. The point right at the end of the cylinder is easy, the main one inside the housing can be difficult to reach without removing the transmission from the car.
that's the thing I cant find any leaks i opened up the bleeder screw and tried to flush any air out..... the pedal is no longer sticking but its still sucking through the fluid, I hope its not the clutch its self my buddy kinda had the same thing happen and it ended up being his pressure plate. ill post more once it stops snowing and i can go out and keep going.
There is no fluid involved with the pressure plate. Pull the rubber boot off and look for leaks at the slave cylinder. If it isn't leaking there, it's usually the master cylinder. When the master cylinder leaks, the fluid will come out inside the car, not under the hood, and run down the firewall under the carpet.
