so my civic for some reason when im taking off it stutters pretty bad but if i punch the throttel it will push threw it and then it runs fine but once you get up to speed it will (i dont know exactly how to explain it) cut out for less than a sec. then it will run fine for a wile then do it again. the stuttering happens when your taking off and if you bog the enigine down to. anyone got any cluse on what it could be? need help its really annoying.

 

What are the RPMs at right before and after it cuts out? Does it do it more on hills?

Also, when's the last time you changed your fuel filter?

 

Is the CEL on? Make sure the bulb works.

Misfiring at low rpm + heavy throttle is usually weak sparks. Misfiring at high rpm + heavy throttle more likely starving for gas.

 

i just got it so i have never changed the fuel filter or plugs or wires been planning on it when i get some spare cash. as far as the CEL its on bc i dont have a down stream O2 sensor bc the car does not have a cat in it and that was the only code the mechanic pulled off of it. so hopefully soon i can do a tune up on it (new plugs and wires, fuel filter, distributor cap.) anything else you guys can think of?
