Default 96 HX speedometer difficulties

So i have a 96 hx civc pretty good, just recently i packed my car with people and when i was in the freeway i notice that the speedometer, the point was going back and forth. could not stay steady at a speed. and once on the road when i take off it wont mark it till i hate like 10mph. any suggestion on what it is and how much would it cost to fix that problem?

Do you have a factory tachometer? If so, it could be a loose tach connector at the back of the instrument cluster. I haven't had to remove mine since I installed a pillar pod with Glowshift tach, instead but if you want to remove the instrument panel, do a search for instructions. A shop may charge $150-$200 to do this.
