Question 97 SI AC problem

Hi,

I'm having a real problem with my AC. I've had it in at the dealership for weeks and there is still no resolution. They have done everything possible to get the AC to work right but it blows anywhere from 13c to just over 20c. I am su****ious that it might have something to do with maybe the hot/cold lever. Is it possible that warm air is bleeding into the system, and not allowing the temp to get cold? If anyone has had a similar problem and mayb suggest a solution, I would be grateful.

Thanks
JP

Put clamps on the heater hoses (or even better, reroute hoses and bypass the heater core entirely) and test drive. Could be a problem with the heater shutoff valve controlled by the hot / cold lever. Also drive for a while and check how cold the suction line under the hood (from firewall back to compressor) gets. The air at the vents should be approximately the same temperature.

Thanks, I'm going to suggest it to the mechanic.
