hey i have a 98 civic ex sedan that has pretty sloppy steering. since i bought the car with 200k miles i am not sure if it is supposed to be a little sloppy or if the rack is just really worn out. im guessing the whole assembly is probably worn out and should be replaced. are there any aftermarket rack and pinion assemblies? if there is i can't find any. do you think an oem replacement one would make it feel alot better? i plan to install new shocks and sway bars and a strut bar, and possibly plastic bushings, which i think will help quite a bit, but do you think the rack and pinion assembly is something i should install too?
