98 honda civic problem
Sorry guys im just a woman, im not car savvy, i was just trying to see if anyone might know what the problem might be before i take it back to my friend, just to know what it was gonna cost me..
I recently had to have the idle air control valve fixed on my honda, after fixing it I drove it around to see how it was, at first it drove fine and then on a long stretch of driving the car began to act up, when i get to 55 to 60 mph the car drives fine but as soon as i let off the gas a little to decelerate, it has a little jerk, almost like when u stick ur hand on the end of a vacuum hose blocking the suction, then when u try to gas it a little again it stutters a little, the car drives fine until u try to slow down, it is also using a lot more gas, can anyone help???

My honda civic is an automatic, I recently had the idle air control valve fixed by a friend because after months of the car sitting up, once i cranked it was idling up and down over and over, so i just had it worked on, and my friend said he fixed it without replacing it, the gas pedal doesnt stick, it just skips when u try to accelerate a little, or jerks, it mainly feels like a jerk backwards when u slow down or ease up on the gas, and the engine light is on...at first i thought the problem would go away because the car hasnt been driven until the car just got worked on a few days ago, after my friend worked on the idle air control valve, it stopped revving, but now the other problem i explained happened..and when u first drive the car it is fine all the way up to 60 mph, but once u ease off the gas, thats when this happens, i just checked the rpm when sitting in neutral and it is at 1 or 1,000?
