99 honda civic dx died at the light

Default 99 honda civic dx died at the light

my 99 honda civic dx would not start after i stalled it at light. it did take a jump and was able to get home. checked this morning and alternator/generator is not the problem.any one have similar experience? could it be distributor? when honda had recall on ignition switch it was addressed at that time, i have faint lights on dash when i turn on key. any help would be appreciated and shared

Faint lights sounds like a weak battery. Have you had that checked?

The only other thing that comes to mind for me is ground wires. Have you made sure those aren't corroded?

If the starter doesn't even turn when you turn the key, it's not the distributor. Like Hobo said, since it seems the whole car is losing electric power, the first thing would be to measure the battery voltage and check for bad connections at the battery and the ground wires.
