Accessory lights delayed when turned on?
First off, my name is Brad and I am new to this forum. I look forward to discussing my car with you all in the future....now on to the problem...
I have a odd issue that I am trying to pinpoint. I have a 91 SI HB and have noticed a odd issue since it has gotten around freezing. I have noticed that when I turn on the lights, the headlights come on right away, however the accessory lights (signals, dash lights etc) will take a few minutes to come on. It usually kicks in when the car warms up inside, or if I hit a big bump. I am thinking that this could be the accessory light relay, but am not sure where it is located on this car and if that would cause this. I am going to the wreckers on the weekend to pickup a few things, so if anyone could help me determine the cause of this issue it would be great. Thanks
Brad

If it's just the dash lights it's probably the dimmer control. If the tail and front corner lights also don't come on, could be the light switch or the fuse. There is no relay.

The front and rear marker lights along with the dash don't come on for a period of a few minutes. This tells me that I may need to replace the switch. I will grab one this weekend at the wreckers, hopefully that resolves the issue. Imay go out thereon lunch and spray the crap out of theswitch with electrical spray cleaner to see if it helps at all. Thanks for the quick reply!
