Default Aftermarket Cam/Head Help

I just recently bought a D16Z6,with a stage 2(what I was told, and how it looks) cam.Ive been cleaning the engine up of all the carbon build-up ect ect,and Ive tried turning the head to see if it would rotate. It rotates, but is very hard to turn, and then it gives way, then it gets hard to turn again, then it gives way.Is this normal?! I mainly bout everything just for the tranny, but the 6puck clutch, cam, and cam gear where just perks.
Ive never had a bigger cam,so Im just curious if it should be doing this.Any info would be helpfull.

Yes that is the engine building compression then releasing compression. If you remove the spark plugs then try turning the engine again you will find the engine turns much easier.

Well in that case then how hard is it to turn? What do you have the head sitting on when you turn the cam? The valves need room to open up.

Well in order not to cause any damage to the valves I set the head on its side. Its kinda difficult to turn, but it ends up giving way, then its hard to turn again.I checked to see if something may be jammed, but its clear.I asked the guy I bought it from and he says the reason he gave me the block as well is that it spun a bearing.Im trying to give as much info as possible so if im being a lil vague lemme know lol.

Most aftermarket cams require the use of a dual valve spring kit and if yours has a dual valve spring kit and the valve springs have a high spring rate then it would cause the cam to be tough to turn by hand while its opening valves then easy again while the valves close

I would try checking the valves for a bent one. Also check for clearence on each one.
