Default Alternator Replacement - 97 Civic EX

I have a 97 Civic EX Sedan that needs a new alternator. I was reading the Haynes manual and it says that I have to remove some of the suspension to get to the alternator. Anybody ever replace an alternator and know if this is true or not?

Another thing, it's probably just the brushes worn out. Anybody know where I can get new brushes for my alternator?

not sure what's different on the EX from the DX, but I didn't need to remove any suspension components, but it is a LOT easier if you can get the car up in the air. Ramps will work, but a hoist is better. The bottom pivot bolt on mine was completely seized. If yours is not seized then its not too bad.
