Anti-Freeze leak that stops when car is running???
98 honda Civic EX.
I know I had a leak some where. Been having to add fluid every couple of days. Today when I came put from work. I found a puddle under my car. Couldn't tell from where, so I checked and fill it up with some anit freeze and bit if water. Let it set for a minute, checked under and had a pretty steady drip, drip, drip coming down off and around my oil pan. I have my brother come to check it out. We refill it, check hoses. He's thinking water pump and has me start it up to see what happens. The drip, drip, drip.. stops when i start it.
Makes no sense, cause it should start like dripping more or spraying water right? Any ideas? We're still thinking water pump, but he was wondering if the thermostat could be doing something? I could really use some info here guys.

We let it run for a few minutes before and after driving. No smoke, no smell. We have no idea. I've order a new water pump, thermostat, valve cover gasket set, and radiator cap (cause the current one is tearing but still working) and the parts will be here on Thursday. Thank god for Rock Auto and 3 day shipping. I just gotta survive til then
usually a water pump leaks or it doesn't but i have seen a water pump do that before. don't know why couldn't tell you but yes regardless its possible. ive seen it alot more common in non automotive applications of water pumps.
