I'm not sure if coolant issues will affect idle in the way you describe, but it can't hurt to make sure your system is properly bled.

Park your Civic on an uphill incline or use jacks/jack stands to raise your Civic's front end up. Turn the heat on full. (Doesn't have to be blowing full, just have the lever set as hot as it gets, then turn it on.) Take the radiator cap off and start the engine. Let it idle until the radiator fan cycles on and off twice. Monitor the coolant level, adding coolant as necessary.

does it start right up when you start it in the morning or does it take a sec?
does it smoke or smell like its running rich when first cranked up?

Starts right up like usual but the check engine light comes on after 5 seconds. I sit and let it warm up to regular temp turn it of and re start and everything is fin e no light no weird engine rev when i push the gas and hold it at 1500 rpms. I did the coolant thing and it took a couple cups of water. Is it possible that air in the coolant would make it do that till it got back to normal running temp. This has me and my friends confused!

Anything is possible. I can't say for sure though.

Next step is to somehow make it to an Autozone and see if they can pull a code. The code is the key to finding which sensor is tripped.

Or, you can pull the 7.5 amp backup fuse under the hood, let sit for a few minutes, put it back in, and start up. See if the code reappears. If it DOES reappear, then we can troubleshoot for that problem specifically.

So i did the coolant yesterday it was a little low. Nothing changed after i did it still ahd to wait till it was warm. Drove it home let it sit for 2 hours went back out and still had the same problem. Woke up to go to work this morning 8am started the car and had NO problem NO light NO weird engine reving. I'll keep you posted hopefully it was just some air in the coolant.

Thanks for all the help, next im looking for an affordable but not cheap and junky single turbo kit. This will be my second car in a couple weeks so i will be able to work on this one.

Have a good day
