i'm planning on an oil change and plug/wire change this weekend, and i'm gonna feel dumb for asking this, but how do you check the compressionand timing?

 

for the timing you'll need a timing light. i've never done a compression test before but i'd imagine you need some sort of tool. Go to your local auto parts store and get a Haynes, Helms, or Chilton manual. It will tell you what you need to know. It's like 10-15 bucks
