THANKS!!!! you know what!!! my speedometer is not working!!! I'll take a look tonight and try to change that fuse...

If you find the fuse blown, it's almost certainly because because the wires behind the engine (where they go across to the alternator) are frayed and shorting out. You'll need to fix the wires or the fuse is just going to blow again. It is a known common problem on the '98.

Thank you mk378... you were right on... the fuse was blown... I changed the fuse... everything is working fine now and my speedometer is back...

I'm just wondering how long the fuse will hold on... only time will tell!!!!

unfortunately you have only put a band-aid on something that requires more work. I recommend that you go to RonJ's post and look at his signatures. One of the links is the Common fuse 15 link. it will give you all the instructions you need to fix this problem once and for all.
