Default Battery/Memory Problems

Just got a 95 EX and noticed that the clock doesn't keep time. I also bought a new cd player and the cd player doesn't work unless the battery/memory wire is hooked up to the ignition. Is there any way to fix this? I'd really like to avoid running a wire directly from my battery, plus that wouldn't fix the clock anyway.

humm how did you hook up your deck? hard wire or did you get a harness?..because if its the harness then theres somthing wrong with your power wire that powers your deck or mabey one of the pins on the harness, try hooking the power wire on the deck directly to the power wire from the harness..for the clock, it must be a short that goes everytimes you turn off your car and start it up..pull out the clock and check the wires to see if everything is connected properly, im not to sure on the clock one

It hasn't been fully hooked up yet, I was just testing it. But yeah, its hard wired. Know where I could find a wiring diagram specific for my car?

the best thing you could do would be to get a radio harness from a junkyard and hardwire that into your civic, then get a plug in harness to connect the radio to.

or but a aftermarkit harness for $5 and do it that way..its much more easer and you wont have a problem installing it, hardwiring is oldschool...for the clock, you will have one on your new deck

I figured it out. The back-up fuse in the fusebox under the hood was blown. Everything works now.
