black smog

so when i rev my car my friends notice black smog coming out my exhaust.is this normal? is my car running to rich? its a b16a2 ive changed the oil put in new spark plugs changed my intake filter i dunno hope its not a serious engine problem

nop! u are not burning oil. if it's oil it will be white and bluish smoke. it's best you take to the shop for some serious diagnose.

black smoke generally indicates that you are running rich, you may see a lil puff of black smoke when you are reving it, because the ecu dumps extra fuel into the engine to make it rev. it is only when running it hard/reving its not wrong

Not to thread jack, but can black exhaust mean the engine's running too cool also? Mine does the same thing, but not badly, I just see soot build up around my tail pipe and my thermo gauge never budges. It works cause when I'm in So Cal the needle is mid-way point.

i would see if you have a thermostat installed, having no thermostat can cause the car to take along time to warm up, and decrese effeciency. it should be at the mid point all the time.
