Default Brakes? Accelaration? Help!!

Hi Guys,

I need some help regarding an issue I had with my car yesterday. I have an automatic 2007 honda civic. I swear I got a lemon as I constantly have trouble with the car. Anyway, yesterday I was driving normally around 35mph and started to slow down for the red light. As the car was about to approach a full stop, my engine starting making a strange sound and my car jerked forward / accelarate. It did this for about 5 seconds. I had to hit the brake really hard to get it to stop without hitting the car in front of me. Then, while I was already stopped, I thought maybe the brake got stuck somewhere so I pressed on it harder (my car was already stopped at this point), but my car jerked forward/accelerated again and the same sound came. There was no snow on the ground that it would have skidded. It never happend since then and I can't get it to reproduce the problem. Has anyone ever had this before? I am really afraid to drive it, especially on the highway. I plan on taking it to a mechanic this weekend, but until then I was wondering if anyone knows what this may be?

Thanks a lot!!
