Default Brakes & Rotors

Hey everyone, so last week I started hearing this bad grinding sound from my front passenger wheel while braking and now its happening even while I'm not braking. the pad is clearly worn down and pitting circles in the rotor, I took the tire off and there's metal shavings all over. But its like the brake is alwaysrubbing on that wheel. The rear rotor is warped and I was told that might make the brakes miss-adjust themselves, but I'm not sure that makes sense. So I'm going to replace the pads and that rotor, but I'm worried that with a new pad there wont be any room since its rubbing now all the time with a worn pad. Any ideas/thoughts? Also, what's the risk on driving with a pitted or warped rotor?

Default RE: Brakes & Rotors

Should work to just replace the pads and rotors. The reason it drags all the time is because you now have very rough metal surfaces instead of smooth like it should be. Obviously don't drive any more at all until you fix the brakes.

Always replace brake pads on both wheels at the same time. It is not essential to replace the other rotor if hasn't been damaged by pads worn down to the metal, but it is recommended.

There's no interaction between the front and rear brakes but if you have trouble with the rears you should fix that too.
