Buying 98 Honda Civic SI what to look for?
Hello everybody,
I'm new to this site, BUT I searched for a topic that might explain to me what to look for and ask the seller.
And I'm very sorry admins if there is a topic out there and I didn't find it.
But anyway, I'm very interested in this Honda. I never owned a vehicle before and I haven't done much research on these vehicles either. For about a year I was obsessed with eventually owning a Gen 3 Integra but since its a rarity to find a good integra where I live, I somewhat lost interest.
It is a 5 speed standard, it has new tires, it also is completely stock from what I know and it was lady driven with 108,000KM's on the Odometer. It has tiny scratches on the exterior but no rust that I can see. But there is a paint crack in the spoiler where I could pick a quarter sized chunk of paint off. She also asking $10,000CAD for the vehicle and she said she has never replaced anything on the vehicle besides the normal.
Okay, I haven't test drove it yet but I will tomorrow evening. What do you think might need to be replaced in the near future, or things to look out for while I test drive?
Thanks for your time! I hope I posted in the right area.

I still never got to test drive it yesterday due to work and setting up a wedding social, but hopefully tonight. But I got the loan for the car and now I just hope I like it when I drive it. I test drove a 2001 Acura Integra and I fell in love with it, but the dealer ship wanted to much, I hope this SI has the same tight feel as the teg!
I was also wondering about the timing belt. I haven't checked under the hood yet, but the car does have 108,000kms on it, and if the belt looks like its in bad condition how much do you think that will set me back? I would be willing to do it myself and buy a OEM honda timing belt and accesories. I seen a 96-00 Civic Timing belt on Ebay for around 150CAD. The price is right, but trust of the quality of the belt is my issue.
I'm still up for any opinions on what to look out for when buying this Civic, and thanks guys for your opinions! I think i'll be sticking out these forums for awhile
