Bypassing clutch relay
Im about to install a keyless starter in my 93 EX. But the clutch has to be pushed in all the way in order to start. I was told I need to bypass certain relays and was hoping someone on here could help me out
Thanks
Thanks
dont leave it in gear then, and i think there is a diy on here well this is for a new si https://www.hondacivicforum.com/foru...ad.php?t=67495 so idk if it will help but prob someone has done it before. and i'm pretty sure it will just lurch forward then stall out if you leave the parking brake up.

if your positive that you NEVER LEAVE IT IN GEAR AND YOUR THE ONLY ONE THAT DRIVES THE CAR...
then just unplug the top sensor and just jump the 2 terminals and then put some tape over the wire to hold it inplace on the wire terminal.
BUT REMEMBER!!!!!!!!!!! if you or a friend leaves the car in gear and you try to remote start it..... well just be sure to keep full coverage insurance, or always park with a curb infront of you
ive bypassed both my old 94 and my current 96 that same way, but i NEVER let anyone drive my car and only time the cars key is even touched by anyone else is either the alignment shop or tire shop. and when i give it to them i put the remote starter system in VALET MODE so the remote starter wont work....
if your smart with it it wont be a problem.
but if someone elses is known to get in your car then just unhook the starter wire off the system that way you have to hop into the car start the car with the key, then activate the stop and go feature on the alarm, pull the key and go back inside.
just because the Ebrake is cranked as hard as you can does not mean the system wont be able to start the motor! yes ive tried it several times... in my driveway the first attempt will jump the car if left in 1st about 3-4feet, and when the 2nd attempt to start it pulls the car hard enough that the motor will start and keep crawling forwards... and if anything was infront of the car well BANG. not good....
if someone else ever gets into your car i would HIGHLY SUGGEST geting a remote starter system made for a manual vehicle! they do have them!!! those are the safest!

the thing that makes them safe is you have to go thru a routen to make the remote starting capable... at least from what ive heard. its something like activating the stop/go feature, crank the Ebrake handle, get out of the car and then turn the remote starter off.
and if someone opens the door then it disables the remote start ability acting like they put it in gear.
i havent really looked into them because im the only one that drives my 5speed so its not a issue. it just depends what do you feel safe with.
