Default A c help. 98 civic

So when I would use my ac driving it would blow cold but when I would stop it would gradually get warmer and warmer and really start lug n the motor down and clicking on nad off about every 20 seconds so I got some guages and metered and seen that the pressures where 425 high side 50 low ..

So I had some removed and the system seemed to be working properly but didn't get cold hither sit n or driving so I drove home and could hear a sucking sound under the dash when I turned it on so I check it on the gauges showed me 190/20 hmm so I added 1/2 a can got my pressures back to 250/37ish and was cooling but not much so I let it run for 30 min or so with no change so I kill the far and 15 min later I started it back cooling real nice all the sudden and then the luging and clicking on n off came back so I gauge it again and 450 / 90 and rising till it got about 480 and 110 the comp would click off they would fall back and when it clicked on they would rise up to that point again over and over so I gave up for a few days and today I drove it and turned it on seemed ok but not cold but cool .......wth ....expansion valve ? Drier ? Or any suggestions ? Maybe a 12 ga shot gun to it ?

Condenser fan.

With no fan and the car stopped, the condenser overheats, causing high side pressure to rise out of control. This (a) lugs down the engine, (b) kills cooling performance, and (c) trips the compressor off on the overpressure switch. Once the car is moving, air is forced through the condenser and everything starts working again.

The condenser fan should be running all the time that the compressor is engaged.

Now you also have the additional complication of possibly being over- or under- charged with refrigerant.

Fan works all the time and compressor keeps spining till it over heats or what ever is happening and the strange part I only does it when the ac is cold and I I stop but when its just cool it seems to work fine then I can turn the car off and a few minutes later it all goes to hell again

and you're sure that the condenser fan under the hood never quits?

Has any oil or "stop leak" ever been added? It would be good to evacuate and charge by weight to make sure it is not overcharged or contaminated with air.

You may have a restriction in your system I would have it flushed and checked to verify
