Default A/C prob in a 2000 civic

I have a 2000 Civic LX with an A/C compressor prob. My question is, Can I just cut the compressor belt(does it run anything else?) and still be able to drive the car?

Yes. The belt doesn't do anything else.

You may want to loosen the tensioner and remove the belt rather than cut it, so you can reuse it if you decide to fix the A/C later.
