"cause a mechanic lost the dipstick ugh"

And why isn't the mechanic paying for a Honda dipstick replacement? I might be out on the old car today so I'll measure mine for you. It's a d15b2. Same block so I imagine it'll be the same and it looks identical to my d15b1 dipstick.

10 3/8 rubber stop grommit to tip. This is from a d15b2 engine. Hope this helps dude.

ditto, ditch the universal crap and get the mechanic to pay for a brand new OEM Honda dipstick. And even if he won't, then buy one yourself... they're only like $10-15 from the dealer. ($10 at Majestic Honda, for example)
