Default Can you install an automatic engine in place of a standard?

Quick question, title says it all. Basically, all I can find are engines for automatics around here, but could I just use one of those with a standard tranny? I'd assume I could as long as I swap flywheels, but a second opinion would be helpful.

Yes just change the flywheel. The rest of the engine is the same for either type of transmission. Used engines are often sold without the flywheel anyway.

The engines are the same, just hook it up to your existing tranny. And like you said swap the flywheel. Or you could buy an engine/tranny package.
