Default car dies frequently

When I'm going 70 on the freeway or at idle. Sometimes 5 times a day sometimes not for a week. Doesn't stutter or hesitate, just dies. 98 Civic LX 4dr. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

does it start right up after it dies or do you have to wait till it cools down?

I have the same problem... But it only happens when the car isn't given time to warm up for about 5 mins. Doen't rattle and shake before it dies, it just dies... It usually happens when I don't give it time to heat up and then brake at street corners or due to traffic. Just before it dies, the battery and oil icon in the dash start to flash. When the 2 lights finally light up, the car dies. What could be the problem???

107,000 miles, no check engine light. It usually doesn't do it when first started for the day because the rpms are a little higher til it warms up. But it will ocasionally start then die immediately a few times then start and run without a problem. When it does die it normally starts right back up without a problem. Most of the time all I do is put it in nuetral then start it without even stopping. It never struggles to start but will sometimes start then immediately die a few times before it stays running.

I had my civic checked at our local honda service center and the problem was that the throttle body needed cleaning and idle needed to be adjusted. No problems after that...

if it's time for a tune-up, or if you do not know when the last tune-up was done, i would do a tune-up. then read the following and do that:
