Default Car stuttering, jerking, dying

Hi guys, i recently bought a 1993 honda civic with the carby motor in it, it has a problem where at about 1/2 throttle just before the carby opens up the secondary stage it will kick and jerk and buck, and also wen i go to take off i have to rev it pretty hard and let the clutch out slow, ive had it to a mechanic a few times, but it "fixes" itself before he can see what its doing, so its an intermittent problem. the plugs, leads, fuel and oil filter have been replaced and also the carby has been serviced.

Can you guys help please??

What engine do you have? I thought that all 5th generation Civics (92-95) had MPFI engines and that some 4th generation Civics (88-91) had carbureted engines.
