I have a 1996 Honda Civic EX Coupe.

Today my car started to slip as I came to a stop and when I would accelerate. I then noticed steam coming from under my hood. I immediately pulled to the side of the road and opened the hood to see that the hose going from the radiator to the engine had a small hole in it. Coolant was everywhere to say the least.

After this I went and bought a new hose and replaced and poured in coolant. I thought everything was fine until I started the car and noticed that my car was still slipping when I would come to a stop and when I would accelerate. Shortly thereafter the CEL came on.

What could have caused the CEL to come on. My car did get hot from the coolant leak but not to the point where the engine was at it's hottest point and no burning smell.

 

Well the CEL is on. Get the code and go from there.
