well i am new i have searched some of the archives to see if i can find the problem but some stuff is vague or hasn't been heard of.
well my old man past away and i am taking his car now he didnt really maintain it very well
so i dont know exactly how bad things are but the codes i got from the CEL are the following

1. p0505
2. p1399
3. p0302
4. p0505

in that order also
is how they came up

some of the problems have been really rough starts, overheating and while in park it sometimes accelerates from 1000 to 2000 rpms by itself. another thing is the wire that is connected to the pedal to accelerate comes loose
any help on what i would need to do to get it running again would be helpful

i also plan on giving it a major tune up since i dont know what he had done to it as far as service.

P1399 ??? Not in my book
PO302 Cylinder #2 misfire detected

sometimes those codes are just temp faults.
i would disconnect the neg of the battery,
take the idle air control valve off, spray the inside with wd-40, let it sit, then
do the major tune-up, dump out the wd-40 and put the iacv back on, hook up
the battery, and then see where you are with the codes

 

thanx, well i have a actron scanner thats how i got the codes so i can clear it anytime
so imma get the major tune up done as soon as i buy all the pieces and then see where i am at then i will post back after that is done..
