Default CEL light.....

So I was driving around last night, and was the only car on the road. I was getting kinda bored so for some fun I put the pedal to the floor. A second or so after that my CEL came on. There are no noticeable problems with the performance of the car. What do you think could be wrong with it?

Autozone will also tell you about what your certain CEL code means.

So I went to autozone and they gave me the code. It was P1259, which is VTEC malfunction. They didn't know what the cause of this could be. Do any of y'all know?

I changed the oil about ~2.5k-3k miles ago. You think that could be the problem?

I really doubt it. How about now take it somewhere and get it checked out.

If your car is burning oil at all, and the level has gone down, it is possible that there is not enough oil making the trip up to the VTEC solenoid. Check your oil level and go from there.
