Default check engine light - coil

Hey guys, I'm newhere, figured you guys would know best...

I have a 2000 Civic DX, the check engine light came on a while ago, and after the car was warmed up, it'd idle rough. Then, not long after, the car would die when I stopped. It would start up again fine, but then die at the next stop. And the check engine light would start flashing. we got the code ran, and it was a misfire in cyl 1. A friend of a friend hooked up these lights between the plug and wire to check the spark and said I was getting a really weak spark. I had already replaced the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor, so we assumed the coil must be bad. I replaced that, and now the check engine light starts flashing before we even put it into gear when we start it. Any ideas? thanks.

Use an engine stethoscope to listen for whether the #1 fuel injector clicks when the engine is idling. If so, swap the #1 and #2 injector to see if the misfire code follows the original #1 injector.

If injector #1 is fine, compression test the cylinders.
