Check Oil Light
Hey everyone. Got a question for you all. Every time I start my 97 Honda civic (110,000) the check oil light will flash for a second...
Just to clarify, when I put the key in all the gauge lights are lit up, then turn off. But the oil light will come back on briefly (1 sec) and then off again. It doesn't do it while I'm driving. Only when I initially start the vehicle. Also, I immediately checked the oil level, and all seems good....
Any thoughts on what this might mean?

Mine does that all the time too, 128K, and in my engine too everything is fine. My mechanicx never mentioned any oil related issues so I just figure it's the ECU and or sensor starting to have dementia in its post 100K life. That's just my take on it. I am by no means a car technical or electronic expert. Sacicons?
You know I noticed mine does that after an oil/filter change right at start up. However after the first start up that goes away. I figured it is because the filter doesn't have any oil in it yet and it may detect a low oil level/pressure somehow. If that is the case you may have a bad/weak oil pump or a bad sensor. It could also mean you may be using the wrong oil grade that takes a while to build up pressure. Just my 2 cents.
