I have a wrecked 87 CRX with a 1.5 carburated engine. I found a 91 Civic 2dr hatchback with a 1.5 FI engine that is bad. Can I swap the engine from the 87 to the 91 and what's involved? I'm new to Honda's so I'm not too familiar with the engine families yet. Is the 91 a multiport or throttle body FI? Has anyone done this type of swap? Thanks!

I guess my real question is, will the FI components from the '91 engine bolt on to the older '87 carburated 1.5 engine for this swap. In the end I would be converting a carburated 1.5 into a FI 1.5. Someone must have tried this before? There are no emissions check in my state so that wouldn't be an issue in this case. Anyone else have any info? Thanks...
