Default Civic Noise

I am trying to figure out a noise that my 2001 civic is making. It is AT and 4 door. When I first start out in the morning I hear a thud sound after about 1000 ft from the front. Later, when I drive slow (less than 10 MPH), I hear a repeating thud sound from what I think is the rear wheel area, the sound resembles having a rock in the tire or running over a crack in the road. I can not see anything that looks unusual. In the front I do have a oil/grease looking smear directly behind the tire on the outside of the car. I do not see anything inside the wheel area though as I was thinking it was the CV Boot/Joint. The car only has 47000 miles on it. Any help would be great.

This noise is probably an unbalanced wheel, worn out wheel bearing, or misalignment, or egg shaped tire, many different things could be wrong with your tire/wheel. I suggest you take it to a garage to check it out if you cant figure this problem out yourself.

I think i have the same sort of problem. Its in my rear right wheel and it veries with speed (niose slows down when I do and speeds up when accel) People have told me to check out the bushings? Havn't quite figured out where they are yet. I was going to try my wheel bearings first. Also it gets lowder with people in the back seat.
