my clutch seems like it started engaging when i let the clutch just about all the way out, if im driving and barley press the clutch in the engine will rev..is that normal or a problem?? and how long would this repair take...my car is still warranted but i gotta have a car...

 

that doesnt sound normal. you should have some play in the clutch. i would take it to the dealer and ask them how long it would take to fix. some dealers will actually give you a loaner car while they are fixin your car if its still under waranty. but the only way to find out how long the repair would take is to talk to the people who will fix it.

my clutch engages about 1/4 of inch from all the way but then again it does have 188,000 miles on the old girl

 

just have the dealer replace the clutch, i dont see them having it for more than 2 days if they get right into it.

 

Sounds like it's fried. Just get it replaced. Did you learn to drive stick on this car. and Riceburner you have alot of miles on your civic!

That sounds like a reason not to part with her. Your rebuilding her though right?

 

couldnt it also just be an adjustment in the cable?

suposedly myold crx clutch didnt want to stick but he said he just adjusted the cable and it worked fine again...

 

yeah same thing with my 89 civic....but i was told that it is normal for an older car like that

 

well ive got 33,000 miles on it, and i didnt learn to drive a stick in it...but the manufacturer said the only way they'd replace it is if it was a factory defect on the clutch....but it still grabs super hard, just when the peddle is all the way out almost...still wil spin the tires, and bark 2nd gear...maybe im just being paranoid and never noticed it before, thanks for the help tho guys<3
