Default Crack in manual transmission housing?

Hello,

While doing an oil change on my 99 Civic LX this weekend I noticed something peculiar on the underside of the manual transmission housing. Here's a view of it looking up from the passenger side, on the side opposite the drain and fill holes for the transmission fluid - Image View - TIS. Obviously there's an oil leak, but that's likely coming from the oil pan. I checked the fluid level in the transmission, and it was fine. Does everyone's transmission look like this and I've just never noticed?

It is broken, but in a way that is not likely to affect the operation of the car. It is in the "bell housing" area where the clutch is, so there is no oil contained there.

Interesting. Thanks for the reply. I imagine it could get worse over time.
