CV Boot Replacement???

RE: CV Boot Replacement???
actually, as opposed to what many think, a torn boot doesn't really cause that much damage as people say. if you look into the engineering of the civic axles, they are quite bulletproof if you're running a stock motor on an ok suspension geometry. you can run on a torn boot for months upon months before even thinking about replacing it. (of course unless you live in michigan or equivilent where the roads are nice and salty)
and many people complain about it taking too long to replace the boot, but if you have a parts washer and the right tool, it only takes about over 5 minutes to clean and repack the bearing. I've already done all of them on the front end and my cost is no where near 85 bucks. just thought i mention it.

My local O'Reilly and Autozone both have Lifetime warranties on them. Pay for the axles and take the old ones back for reimbursment. I had to replace both CV joints when I bought it, and recently had to replace the passenger one due to the ripped boot. How do those things get ripped anyways?

RE: CV Boot Replacement???
I have done both procedures and suggest if you have the bucks do the full axle replacement. I dida boot replacement once during a time of personal cash flow problems and it was successful also. If you have time to burn then give it a try.
