Question CVCC Oil Pump

I am rebuilding a junkyard engine for my 1982 Honda Civic sedan with a CVCC engine. The inside of the engine appears to be in good condition, but I'm replacing nearly everything anyway. I have one problem, though. I am unable to remove the oil pump, even though I have removed the 4-bolts. What is the trick to getting it out? Thanks for any help you can give.

Hit it with mallet.

Use heat gun and mallet.

Bigger mallet.

Default Thanks

Thanks for your hint. I just was afraid of hitting it too hard.

"Percussive maintenance" will win.

Pics of said rebuild? Sounds like a nice project.

Default Cvcc oil pump removal

I know this is super old but rebuilding a 1980 civic 1500dx now myself, you gotta pry the screen and seal out of the pickup tube and theres 1 more bolt hiding under it.
