Default D15b2 to D15b7 on 90 civic dx

I need Help and suggestions on This Swap. I currently bought a 1990 civic wagon dx with a d15b2 automatic.. Unfortunately last week the car started making noises, not starting, i took the car to the shop, and they told that 2 cylinder are low on compressions. most likely the motor is running on only two cylinders. and something else about the head gasket.

Yesterday, i found a D15b7 motor out of a 92 civic coupe for $300. Block And head. no dizzy, no intake manifold, no harness, no ecu.. Now my Questions are If I can Swap The b7 motor Using all the alternatives part from the b2??

This car is not for racing or any project or nothing, all i want is to have it running..Can somebody tell me if i can just swap a b7 motor using the b2 fuel injection manifold, dizzy, harness, starter, ecu ect.??????

If you swap on your existing distributor and stuff, it will work just fine. Make sure the motor is in good shape before you buy it. $300 seems like a lot for a motor in basically unknown condition with missing parts, but, the market varies I guess...

You can use a D16a6, i've also seen a d16y7 used, with all the b2 parts.

Hei thanks for the help.. I appreciate it.!
Do you know if theres anything that i have to change around, i heard something about the fan switch been in different place and also the driver side motor mount.?
Yea, i know its kinda pricey but that engine was drop down in shop that i work at. i drove the car before they took it apart and the engine was good... with no more then 170 miles..

170 miles is a high mileage motor in my world. I'd find another one personally.

I forgot about that. Keep the b2 motor mount that bolts to the block. Reuse your transmission. Reuse your waterneck (I think it's called). Newer d15/d16 have the fan switch on the thermostat housing, I forget where the fan switch is on the 88-91 blocks. I had to extend the wiring for mine, it's just 2 wires.

if it's not a project car I couldn't justify doing the 5-speed swap. keep it as your reliable car and get a project car to throw money at if you want. it's what i wish i had done.
