Mechanical Problems & Technical ChatIf you've got a problem you just can't figure out, a noise you can't diagnose, or a check engine light that won't go away, ask about it here!
Good afternoon! I just bought a project 1998 Civic EX Coupe with an automatic transmission. I love it! It's a great little car, and I am very excited to work on it over the next few years. It's a project, and not a DD.
I have my 'D4' Light flashing, as well as the check transmission light on.
I arced the service hookup below the passenger side glove box -- so that the D4 light flashes at you a certain amount of times to tell you the error code it's putting out.
It blinks long one time, and then quick five times -- so I'm assuming that means code 15? Does anyone know which one this is? I read on one forum that it mean main shaft speed sensor -- is there a separate speed sensor for the automatic transmission?
Your knowledge is greatly appreciated - have a great day!
When looking around my shift solenoid, I found this sensor (?) that was hanging precariously. I tried to get a picture of it - it has some ghetto zipties on it. And then I tried to get a picture with where it is supposed to plug into in the background a little bit.
