Question del sol ecu/ rpm problems d series zc

i just recently got a 93' del sol s type with a d series zc eninge 5 spd s20 tranny and i got a couple problems i never ran into before until now.

my 1st problem is my engine light is on constantly it doesnt flash or anything could it be a bad ECU?

my other question is when i press on the gas my rpms peak at 2000 at a stop and a go my rpm's don't go past 2000 and it sucks.there is a sensor on the other side of the throttle body that connects to the throttle with a spring in it. could that cause it?

any info would help

Due to an error in your ECU, the system has gone into limp/backup function mode. Try to pull CEL codes from the ECU.
