Default distributer wiring help please

ok i have a 98 ex using that harness and put in a d16y7 that was obd2b now i heard that all you have to do with the wires on the distributer is match the colors and forget out the extra. my 98 ex harness has 9 wires and my d16y7 has 8 wires coming of of the distributer ( i was told and have read that there is only supposed to be 7??????) any ways colors dont match, need to either figure out what wires go to what or what colors control what on each car but cant find any diagrams and the book doesnt help

98 ex harness has
white
yellow/green
yellow
black
green
light blue
dark blue
red

d16y7 distributer has

i found a diagram and wired it to that, this diagram had everything i needed except my tack isnt working, i am told the wire you leave unpluged controls the tach on 96-98 ecu but on 99-00 the ecu does that so im running a 00 ecu, now what do i do with that extra wire to make the tach work?

The blue tach wire from the OBD2b ECU pins to A19:

Run that wire to the tach.
