Default do civics have tranny filters? auto that is

what it says.... curious... all other cars ive worked on have had tranny filters but i heard these civics dont have them... just fluid....

when i got my civic the tranny was alittle low and the dip stick was loose........
well i got a replacement dip stick and filled the fluid up...
but now id just like to change the fluid and be sure that nothing else got into the system while it was leaking...

and how much fluid does it take?

yeah, they do have an internal filter -gotta rip appart the whole tranny to replace it - one of hondas downside
just try to keep the fluid clean - old nasty fluid will clog up a filter faster
i think it takes about 2 1/2 - 3 quarts
keep in mind you need to use either gunuine honda atf or you can use regular atf & add a friction modifier - sold at most auto parts store

when i got my tranny fluid changed at the honda dealer they said there was no filter. your est bet would be to call and make sure if it does or not.
