Default Do not buy an antenna from ebay!

Do not buy an antenna from ebay for your civic. I bought mine, tied a string to my old end and pulled it through, then tied the new end to the cord and pulled it through and the solder ended up coming off, the adapter came apart from the cord and to end it all the stock screws weren't long enough because the antenna base was too thick....
Will not buy anything from ebay again!

Link? (to the auction of the item you bought)

Many things on ebay are hit or miss. They are made in mass production for the most part and fitment can vary per item.

Sorry to hear about your issues with the antenna. Have you contacted the seller with these issues? I remember when my antenna broke on my 93 Civic coupe, Pepboys down the street from me had one for my car for $15. Perfect install/fitment.

yeah, no prob here it is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
I contacted the seller to let them know, no response yet, it is sunday though. The site says only exchanges, I don't want the same product again, so I'm just going to take it as a lesson learned....

I would try and get a replacement as long as no additional $ is coming from your pocket. Otherwise, just write it off as a learning experience. Sometimes you'll get a generic ebay item that fits perfectly and works flawlessly, or you may get something that is just pure junk. Hopefully, this won't deter you from ebay in the future. It really is a good site to buy/sell things.

for some things it's great, but for new generic items, it's horrible...Like I got a timing belt kit for the civic, everything was great then the timing cover wouldn't fit over the water pump that came with the kit...so I had to get one from Oreilly's so I didn't wait for a few days...still have the pump here, wouldn't do me any good sending it back and getting another since I don't need one now
But other instances are better say if you buy a used item...then it's more likely to fit

A genuine Honda antenna from a dealer is only about $20.
